Batman and the Joker in a surfing competition
From the original series, featuring this great Batman line: “Shall we go into the men’s locker room and put on our baggies?”
And Robin is totally incognito. I like how actually describes himself as Bruce Wayne’s “youthful ward”. I’m not sure if Commissioner Gordon is supposed to be in disguise, or if this is just what he wears on his own time.
Batman lecturing Robin
Check out this list of great quotes from the old Batman tv series of him giving various bits of advice to Robin.
My two favorites:
Batman: “In fact, Mr. Wayne is taking Mrs. Harriet Cooper, a devotee of Miss Glaze’s, backstage before the performance to meet the dazzling star.”
Robin: “While Dick Grayson, I suppose, stays home and works on his essay on glaciers?”
Batman: “Right again, Robin.
Robin, looking at Batgirl: “You know something, Batman?”
Batman: “What’s that, Robin?”
Robin: “She looks very pretty when she’s asleep.”
Batman: “I thought you might eventually notice that. That single
statement indicates to me the first oncoming thrust of manhood, old
chum.”

While we’re at it, here’s Liberace appearing on the show. Why do they keep the Batphone in a cake warmer?
Dark Knight Teaser Trailer
I like teasers like this…builds the anticipation while giving nothing away.
Batman: The Dark Knight
The sequel to Batman Begins is filming right now and is shaping up to be a great movie. The returning cast:
- Batman: Christian Bale
- Alfred: Michael Caine
- Jim Gordon : Gary Oldman
- Lucius Fox: Morgan Freeman
The new cast:
- Rachel Dawes: Maggie Gyllenhaal (replacing Katie Holmes)
- Joker: Heath Ledger
- Harvey Dent: Aaron Eckhart
Tremendous cast, and there’s a rumor that Cillian Murphy may show up again as Scarecrow. The movie is scheduled to come out July 18, 2008. Next summer should be great for comic book movies with this in addition to Iron Man and the new Hulk movie.
